With the support of CFED (www.cfed.org), Bank of America, Fulton Bank, and an army of volunteers, Hopeworks is bringing individualized financial coaching to Hopeworks youth!
Hopeworks has been invited to participate in the 2016-2017 Bank of America Coaching and Evaluation Fellowship. This fellowship will help Hopeworks refine and improve its financial coaching practices, and track the outcomes for current Hopeworks youth and alumni.
Financial coaching is much more than simply making a budget. Financial coaching means providing regular one-on-one sessions with clients in order to ‘coach’ performance improvements to meet goals mutually set by the coach and client.
With the help of volunteers from Fulton Bank and individual volunteers from across the region, Hopeworks youth are getting the opportunity for individualized, one on one sessions with trained volunteer coaches. This will help youth not only learn good financial practices, but to actually make those practices a reality!
This new program will ensure that the good jobs that Hopeworks youth earn mean not only a chance to earn good pay, but also a chance to truly build wealth for themselves and their families.
