Success At Hopeworks;

Mario Visits Le Moyne College

      As Patrick drove and I sat in the car on our way to Le Moyne College in Syracuse, NY, we are able to see all the beautiful scenery. The leaves of the trees are a bright red, orange, yellow and brown. After sitting in the car for almost four and half hours, I have to say that the time was not spent unwisely. As we drew closer to Syracuse, and to Le Moyne, I began to think about the things I was going to see and the questions I was going to ask and going to be asked. So I inhaled and exhaled and relaxed.  By the time I noticed, we were already pulling into the parking lot at Le Moyne College.

Since we arrived a few minutes early, we decided to take our own tour. At first the school seemed big but once we drove around I noticed that the school was relatively small, which of course is not a problem for me.  I am used to attending small schools so Le Moyne College was just the right size. After we took our own little tour, we went inside the main building to meet with the head of admissions.

      Mr. Nicholson’s secretary announced to him that we had arrived. Seconds later, I was shaking the hand of one of the people that I had to impress. He then invited us to lunch at the school’s cafeteria. As we ate, we talked a bit about Hopeworks, my job at Hopeworks, and a bit of my experience in school so far. After lunch we went back to his office where I met with him privately. We talked about my family and the school. We then discussed my possible schedule for next year. It did not look too good. Some of the classes that I planned on registering for at Camden County for next semester were preventing me from having a flexible schedule at Le Moyne College. Mr. Nicholson offered some suggestions. I will be able to graduate from Camden County College next year, as long as I take four classes during the Spring semester and three during the Summer semester.

My schedule for the Spring semester has changed a little. Not only will I be able to transfer some credits to Le Moyne, I am also able to graduate from Camden County College. I have a lot of work to do in the upcoming months. However, I will not let anything stop me from achieving one of my most important dreams. There will definitely be some ups and downs, but there is nothing that I can’t handle. As always, “God walks with me every step of the way.”
