On April 18, 2019, Hopeworks GIS team participated in the 32nd Annual GIS Mapping Contest at the NJ Department of Environmental Protection in Trenton. Hopeworks GIS Director, Luis Olivieri, was the keynote speaker and Hopeworks GIS interns shared their experience at Hopeworks with the audience. Participants included state, federal, municipal, county, nonprofit, and student GIS users.
Luis also won first place in the story mapping contest. Luis' story map followed his late father's journey from Puerto Rico to New York to his service in the U.S. Army during WWII and back to Puerto Rico. Congratulations Luis!
