Subaru Day of Service was a Success!

Subaru has been a valued Community Partner of Hopeworks for several years now and we are so grateful to them for all their support and generosity throughout the years. On May 4th, 35 of Subaru’s IT employees spent the day at Hopeworks with our youth.  They also offered to help us in any way we needed. Of course, we took them up on their offer and put them to work!

Their day of service consisted of planting, weeding, and watering in our Esperanza Community Garden, and doing mock interviews with our youth and interns. The interview and professional skills Subaru employees instilled in our youth are so valuable, as many of our interns are currently applying for and interviewing for jobs and externships that will jumpstart their careers and their futures.

Volunteers also helped make the first concrete step towards our exciting move to Market Street by cleaning out our very full basement! As anyone who has purged their basement after 18 years knows, that was no small task.  Thank you team Subaru!
