Hopeworks trainees and interns have had several opportunities over the last few months to visit big tech companies and learn about their businesses. These experiences are so helpful as youth have the chance to network, ask questions, and learn about various careers. So far, Hopeworks has visited Seer Interactive, APEX IT, EPAM Systems, and Subaru.
Former year-long DeSales volunteer, Brendan McCann, accompanied our youth on many of these visits and said that trainees and interns have really taken advantage of these opportunities and these informational days “give youth stronger ideas of what they could do; give them a chance to network; and give great exposure to different technologies and companies.” Hopeworks Intern, Caloua Lowe has gone on multiple visits and says, “These visits are so beneficial to me because I get to experience different work cultures; I get to see how co-workers at these companies interact with one another; and I learn some type of new skill at every company I visit.”
We’re grateful to have partnerships with such generous companies who invite us to see their operations. Our goal: return the courtesy by preparing our interns to be awesome future employees!
