We are excited to welcome Taylor Davis as Hopeworks’ new Academic Success Coach!
Taylor previously worked at SERV as a prevention specialist, where she held workshops and developed curriculum for youth spanning in age from high school into early adulthood. She worked to educate youth on how to avoid interpersonal violence in their lives, hopefully preventing them from needing SERV’s resources and services in the future.
When Taylor heard about the position at Hopeworks she was excited to make a transition to academic coaching, and she was intrigued about the trauma-informed approach that Hopeworks practices. Taylor says, “The emphasis on the trauma informed model really sets Hopeworks apart. No one is just an intern, trainee, or staff member, everyone has a story. People are treated as people first.”
As our new Academic Success Coach, Taylor will coach our youth and help them set academic goals and hold them accountable to those goals. “I always knew I wanted to be able to connect with people, and empower youth in my work, and I am very confident I can do that here.” When asked what her goal is in her new role, Taylor says, “I want to be a fantastic resource for academic growth; and I want to empower youth to feel confident in chasing and achieving their dreams."
