From Trainee to Youth Training Specialist

Meet Yanlexis Arizaga, she is our newest youth training specialist at Hopeworks. Yanlexis began her journey at Hopeworks in September of 2017. Within months she had developed technical skills as well as professional etiquette that allowed her to smoothly transition from training, to internships, into her new role on the Hopeworks staff. Her responsibilities now as a youth training specialist include assisting youth in completing their training, facilitating training room meetings and maintaining training room professional culture. Yanlexis believes that her position is beneficial because she is not only able to help them through the training curriculum but also assists in their growth professionally. In 5 years, she hopes to have created numerous projects that influence positive change in society and would also hope to gain enough experience and knowledge to create a safe environment for youth to grow. Yanlexis says “Hopeworks has helped me see the value I have and give to others. Where I now have a list of accomplishments and learning experiences, from public speaking to teaching high school youth technology and art, all because Hopeworks believed in me.
