FCC Chairman Visits Hopeworks On His Digital Opportunity Tour

Federal Commission of Communications Chairman, Ajit Pai, paid Hopeworks a visit this month on the New Jersey leg of his Digital Opportunity Tour. Throughout his tour of the United States, Pai hopes to close the digital divide for all Americans. The Chairman was able to speak with our youth and staff about how we’re using technology to employ young people and earn jobs in various industries.

When the chairman spoke to KYW Newsradio he said “Here at Hopeworks, the young people essentially take charge of their own future, become a participant in as opposed to a passive spectator of a digital economy. There’s really incredible stuff going on with web design, GIS and other types of advanced services that I think many businesses need around the country, and I think the students here at Hopeworks are really well positioned to take advantage of that and get some of these jobs in the future.”
