Jilimarie Mojica recently landed a full time position with CAMcareHealth Corporation as a scheduler for the Moderna vaccine. It’s an ideal first full time professional job for Jilimarie, who is actively working to become a certified medical assistant. Prior to joining CAMcare, she served as a training room intern for Hopeworks.
Jilimarie worked for a Checkers restaurant before coming to Hopeworks in February 2019. At Hopeworks, Jilimarie worked her way through the modules, earning a spot as the training room intern. In that role, “She made sure all the laptops were accounted for and tracked properly,” says training room manager Erich Smith. “Jili also made sure the spaces were always clean,” a critical task during the pandemic. In addition, “She had great rapport with the trainees,” says Erich. “She was very present and guided a lot of trainees through the training room.” In fact, it was Jilimarie who recommended allotting two hours of study time for training room interns working on progressing in different career pathways.
Thanks to her time at Hopeworks, and the new job, Jilimarie was able to achieve her goal to live on her own.
Jilimarie remembers Hopeworks as a “peaceful, happy place.” She says she gained “more patience, more responsibility, and more knowledge,”during her time there. “Hopeworks gave me lots of responsibilities.”
While Jilimarie continues to participate in the Google IT Middle Skills Certification at Hopeworks, her daily presence in the training room is definitely missed. “No matter what was going on, Jili had a smile,” says Erich. “Her smile lit up the room. There was always good energy with Jili around.”
