Nyah Connects with Connexus for Innovative New Opportunity!

Congratulations is in order for GIS team member Nyah Thompson who was recently hired by Connexus Technology for a full time position on the Data Imaging team! Nyah previously worked in the restaurant industry, but is also a versatile visual artist with a strong background and tons of talent.

Nyah joined Hopeworks because she wanted to get into tech, and didn’t know where to begin.

“I wanted to get involved in tech but didn't know where to start. One day I was asking my friend about what they were up to and they told me they were working with Hopeworks and took time to explain the program to me. I knew immediately it was a fit and within a month I was working there!

The most valuable thing I learned was about a fixed and growth mindset. It has changed the way I think about my achievements and goals and has allowed me to embrace failure and see it as part of the process in reaching those milestones I build for myself. It's important to celebrate every part of the process!”

Nyah’s dreams for the future are to continue growing her career path so she is financially stable enough to give back to her family. She also hopes to travel the world while trying delicious food! We have no doubt that Nyah will bring all of these dreams to fruition.
