NEWARK, N.J. – July 7, 2026 – Hopeworks announced that its newly established space in Newark, New Jersey is now fully open, with programming officially underway to support young adults entering technology and high-growth careers.
The Newark site marks the latest expansion of Hopeworks’ proven workforce development model, which combines technical training, real-world work experience, and career readiness support to help young adults move into sustainable, living-wage employment.
Hopeworks’ expansion into Newark comes as the city continues to emerge as one of the region’s most active innovation and employment hubs, with growing demand for tech-enabled talent. Hopeworks Newark is currently operating as a fully active site at 550 Broad Street, with participants engaging in training programs designed to connect them directly to employment pathways in technology and related fields.
“Newark represents exactly the kind of opportunity-rich environment where our model has immediate impact,” said Dan Rhoton, CEO of Hopeworks. “Young adults in this region deserve direct access to the tools, training, and support that lead to real careers. Now that the space is open, we’re already seeing participants engage with programming that prepares them for jobs that are in demand today - not someday.”
The Newark expansion builds on Hopeworks’ partnership with Dell Technologies, which has supported the organization’s AI Innovation Hub model in Camden and Philadelphia since 2023. Through this work, participants have gained hands-on experience with emerging AI capabilities and employer-facing tools - developing the assistance local employers need, along with the skills that will help young adults build lasting careers in technology.
“The future of opportunity depends on access to technology, skills and real pathways into meaningful work,” said Carly Tatum, Head of Giving & Impact, Dell Technologies. “Expanding our partnership with Hopeworks into Newark transforms that belief into action. Newark has extraordinary talent and a strong employer base. We’re here to help connect more young people to the skills and confidence they need to succeed.”
Dell is providing technology infrastructure that powers day-to-day programming in the space, including Dell devices, monitors, and workstation environments that enable access to Dell’s GenAI mock interview tool with digital assistants and other career readiness tools.
The technology is being used to support hands-on workforce training, including:
- AI-powered mock interview simulations that help participants practice and refine their job readiness skills
- Digital productivity tools that assist with communication, writing, and professional development
- On-premise access to career training systems and AI-enabled learning platforms
- Day-to-day operational support for workforce development programming
With programming now underway in Newark, Hopeworks will continue expanding partnerships with local employers and community organizations to strengthen pathways into technology and high-growth careers.
Together with partners like Dell, Hopeworks is working to ensure that the next generation of talent has access to the tools, training, and opportunities needed to thrive in an increasingly AI-driven economy.
