A Great Night for Hopeworks – and Camden Youth!

On Thursday, October 11, 2018, dignitaries from all over the region gathered at the Adventure Aquarium for Hopeworks Annual Gala honoring Camden Police Chief J. Scott Thomson with this year’s Hopebuilder Award, recognizing the tremendous leadership Chief Thomson has demonstrated in helping Camden become a safer city.

Just honoring Chief Thomson, however, was not the only benefit of this year’s Gala. Participants also raised funds to support Hopeworks Townsend Scholarship Program, a program providing full-tuition scholarships and academic support to young people completing their degree at Camden County College. In all, the event raised a net amount of $60,000 to support young people achieving their dreams at Hopeworks!

In addition, Hopeworks also awarded academic achievement awards to four exceptional Townsend Scholars; Ashlee Alexander, Alex Collazo, LeAundra McCullough, and Nyree Oliver, selected for their dedication to excellence and improving themselves.
